Lamprecht Named ACC Co-Golfer of the Month – Men's Golf — Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

Greensboro, N.C. – After finishing as the individual runner-up twice in two events, Georgia Tech golfer Christo Lamprecht has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Golfer of the Month for March, sharing the honor with Virginia freshman Ben James.

A junior from George, South Africa, Lamprecht posted his fifth and sixth top-10 finishes of the year and led the Yellow Jackets to a pair of runner-up team finishes at the Linger Longer Invitational (208, -8) and The Goodwin (203, -7) during the month. At the Linger Longer event, Tech finished ahead of Vanderbilt, the nation’s No. 1 team, and Lamprecht beat the nation’s top player, Gordon Sargent of Vanderbilt. Tech also finished ahead of the only top-10 team at The Goodwin (Stanford).

Lamprecht broke par in five of the six rounds, averaging 68.6 per round, and reduced is stroke average for the year to 69.21 over 24 rounds. That would be a Tech record if maintained.

After winning the Inverness Intercollegiate in the fall season, Lamprecht has finished as a runner-up three times this spring and is ranked No. 12 in the nation according to Golfstat.com, and No. 5 in the nation in the Golfweek Sagarin Index.

Christo Lamprecht posted two runner-up finishes in the month of March, and has done so three times this year.
