NAPA, Calif. – Sun Devil Women’s Golf completed the second round of the Silverado Showdown hosted at Silverado Resort & Spa.
No. 9 Arizona State (594) is in sixth after 36 rounds, sitting withing striking distance of second place No. 13 Texas A&M (588) as No. 16 Northwestern maintains a commanding lead. Amanda Linner remains in contention for the individual title, currently in fifth place after day two. She is only four strokes back of the overall leader, looking for her first collegiate win. Grace Summerhays and Paula Schulz-Hanssen join Linner in the Top-25.
The field will undergo a shotgun start tomorrow morning at 9 AM, with Sun Devils starting their round on hole 4-6. Live scoring for the Silverado Showdown will be provided by Golfstat at the following link.
ROUND BREAKDOWN
For the second straight day, the Sun Devils started their day on the front nine. Grace Summerhays managed to get off to a strong start, recording a birdie on the third hole. She went even on the front nine to lead the way for her team.
The birdies picked up on the back nine, as Arizona State was able to cash in on more opportunities. Beth Coulter birdied the first hole after the turn to start an even run on the back nine. ASU had the most success as a team on the par four 14th hole, as Paula Schulz-Hanssen and Calynne Rosholt each birdied the hole. Grace Summerhays came through with a huge birdie on 16, ending her round one-under over the final five holes. Amanda Linner capped her day with a critical birdie on 18 and sealed a spot in the Top-5.

“We struggled making birdies today,” Head Coach Missy Farr-Kaye remarked. “Greens were firmer and faster. The team fought to the finish and I was happy to see Amanda finish with a birdie. This team has a lot of grit and resilience and I know they will come back strong tomorrow.”
