SAN FRANCISCO – Sophomore Zoe Antoinette Campos on the UCLA women’s golf team has received Pac-12 Women’s Golfer of the Week honors, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon. This is the first weekly award of Campos’ career.
Campos secured the first medal of her collegiate career at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic at Royal Ka’anapali Golf Course last week with her best 54-hole score to date at 12-under (66-67-71). Campos’ score of 12-under is tied for the fifth lowest 54-hole score in relation to par in program history. The last Bruin to shoot 12-under or better was Patty Tavatanakit at the 2018 ANNIKA Intercollegiate (-13).
Campos’ back-to-back scores of 66 and 67 marked the lowest of rounds of her collegiate career.
The Valenica, Calif. native leads the Bruins with a 71.7 scoring average heading into UCLA’s competition at the Silverado Showdown this week. Campos also leads the Bruins with five top-10 finishes this season.
Campos has missed the top-20 only once this season, coming in a t-21st placement at the Vystar Credit Union Gator Invitational on March 5.
Two weeks ago, Campos was listed to the ANNIKA Award Watch List for the first time in her career. The list features 15 of the best women’s college golfers this season. Campos was ranked as the No. 15 women’s college golfer in the nation in the latest GolfStat poll.
