Many bettors banking on Tiger Woods, Mickelson to miss cut

We are indeed in a new era of golf, and there’s no better indication of it than where bettors are putting their money on the Masters this week.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, two legends of the game and two of the only men with at least three all-time wins at Augusta, are the most popular bets to miss the cut at BetMGM.

That’s right. Two players who would have been among the favorites to win outright a decade ago are now expected to bow out before the weekend even begins. And Woods leads the way at +150 odds — a bet one of our own at FTW agrees with.

Mickelson’s placement isn’t as much of a surprise with oddsmakers down on LIV bettors as a whole — including Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka, who are third and fourth on the list of bets to miss the cut.

Not everyone is down on Woods, though. While his most-bet prop at BetMGM is missing the cut, the next four are some variation of how well he’ll play, including a top-20 finish as his second most-bet prop.

But after Woods admitted Tuesday his physical condition is worse and this could be his last Masters, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few more bets pour in on those plus odds for him to miss the cut.
