Women’s Golf Ranked Fifth Heading into Postseason Play

STARKVILLE – Golfstat, the leading ranking system in collegiate golf, announced their top 25 rankings on Tuesday. For the third consecutive week, Mississippi State is ranked fifth in the country.

Golfstat uses Relative Rankings to calculate their rankings each week. Relative Rankings compare each team, one-on-one, against every other team in the country. A percentage value is applied to every one of those decisions. MSU clocks in with a 264/269 comparative record against the field for a 91.30% relative percentage. State holds a 17/20 comparative record against the current top 25.

Mississippi State is one of seven schools currently ranked inside the top 25 with three or more tournament wins this season. The Bulldogs went back-to-back in the Mason Rudolph Championship and Blessings Collegiate Invitational. In February, State captured the team title at The Show in Las Vegas.

Looking around the Southeastern Conference, the Bulldogs are joined by fellow members LSU (3rd) and South Carolina (4th) in the Top 10.

Individually, six Bulldogs are ranked in this week’s Golfstat Top-250 Individual Rankings. Julia Lopez Ramirez leads the pack, moving into fifth. Hannah Levi is 72nd this week, as Izzy Pellot remains 82ndSurapa Janthamunee comes in at 167th, making the biggest leap of the week (up from 182nd). Abbey Daniel is 176th with Ashley Gilliam at 205th.
