Huskers Return to Action for Tiger Collegiate

The Nebraska men’s golf team returns to action for the Tiger Collegiate in Colombia, Mo. April 10-11.

Teams will make their way to Missouri on Saturday and compete in a practice round beginning at 10:55 a.m. (CT) at the Club at Old Hawthorne and its Par-72, 7,221-yard layout on Sunday.

Action will then tee off on Monday with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. (CT), with Round 2 immediately following. On Tuesday, play will conclude with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. (CT).

The 15-team field features a strong group of Midwestern teams and is hosted by the University of Missouri. Nebraska is joined by Big Ten members Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Rutgers. Former Big 12 foes Iowa State and Kansas State will also make the trip. Arkansas State, Lipscomb, Louisiana-Monroe, Marquette, Nevada, and Wyoming round out the field.

Will Marshall (Sr., Elburn, Ill.) and Gentry Scheve (Jr., Emporia, Kan.) return to the Husker lineup in the midst of playing some the best golf of their Husker careers. Marshall, fueled by a final-round 67 (-5), finished 19th at the Seahawk Intercollegiate March 27. Scheve also posted a career-best individual round score (70, -2) and 54-hole score (219, +3).

Reed Malleck is another Husker looking to keep his momentum going in Missouri. The junior from York, Neb. tied his career-low round with a 69 (-3) in Carolina and also set a new career-best three-round score of 216 (E).

Caleb Badura will make his second straight lineup appearance for Nebraska. The fifth-year senior from Aurora finished tied for 65th at the Seahawk with a three-round score of 225 (+6).

Davis Johnson, the true freshman from Chaska, Minn., makes his first lineup appearance for the Big Red. He last competed in the individual tournament at the Purdue Fall Invitational October 10-11, where he carded a 71 (-1) and finished tied for 33rd.
