Men’s Golf | April 10, 2023
Senior Parker Sisk turned in a season-best 72 and was joined in par efforts by junior Krando Nishiba and sophomore Jackson Rivera to lead the USC men’s golf team in the Western Intercollegiate first round at Pasatiempo G.C. in Santa Cruz, Calif., on Monday (April 10).
The Trojans, who dealt with some challenging wind toward the end of their afternoon round, combined for a 4-over 354 in the six-play, five-count format that will also be used at the Pac-12 Championships. They are tied for eighth. California leads at 16-under.
Sisk, Nishiba and Rivera are all tied for 30th after their par efforts. It was Sisk’s first action since February and he shook off the competitive rust — and a 3-over start — with his best round as a Trojan, going 3-under over his final 12 holes.
Nishiba, likewise, came back from a slow start, going 4-over through three holes before working his way back to even for the day.
Senior Jack Boulger, sophomore Gavin Aurilia and freshman Mahanth Chirravuri all finished at 2-over, tied for 52nd.
USC will begin the second round with a 9:22 a.m. tee time, paired again with UNLV.
Golf Channel will again provide live coverage starting at 4 p.m. PT and will air final-round coverage Wednesday at 1 p.m.
