Sophomore Jackson Rivera fired a 1-under 69 while freshman Mahanth Chirravuri carded a par 70 to pace the USC men’s golf team in the Western Intercollegiate second round at Pasatiempo G.C. in Santa Cruz, Calif., on Tuesday (April 11).
The Trojans combined for an 11-over 361 second round in the six-play, five-count format and moved to 15-over 715. Pepperdine moved into first at 27-under today.
Rivera’s round today marked his eighth in the 60s this year and 12th under par, both team bests. He is tied for 18th at 1-under 139 (70-69).
Junior Krando Nishiba is tied for 28th at 1-over 141 (70-71) after his 1-over effort today while Chirravuri is tied for 33rd at 2-over 142 (70-72).
Senior Parker Sisk is tied for 61st at 6-over 146 (70-76), senior Jack Boulger is tied for 66th at 7-over 147 (72-75) and sophomore Gavin Aurilia is tied for 74th at 9-over 149 (72-79).
The final round is set for Wednesday with Golf Channel coverage at 1 p.m. PT.
