Streicher Shoots 1-Under 71 In ACC Second Round


North Carolina freshman Megan Streicher birdied four of the final six holes to shoot 1-under-par 71 in the second round and is even par through 36 holes to lead the Tar Heels in Thursday’s play at the 2023 ACC Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro.
 
Carolina shot 306-295 and is in 11th place at 25-over 601 with one round to play. Wake Forest (-15), Duke (-10), Clemson (-8), Virginia (-1) and Florida State (+10) hold the top five spots with the four best advancing to Saturday’s match play semifinals following Friday’s third round of stroke competition.
 
Streicher (73-71) is tied for 13th place at even-par 144. Tar Heel senior Kayla Smith shot 74-73 and is tied for 19th at 3-over 147.
 
Virginia’s Amanda Sambach (68-66) has the 36-hole individual lead at 10 under par.
