Pac-12 Golf Weekly Awards – April 18, 2023

Pac-12 Men’s Golfers of the Week (4/18/23): Preston Summerhays, ARIZONA STATE (So., Scottsdale, Ariz.) & Omar Morales, UCLA (So., Puebla, Mexico)

• Summerhays secured medalists honors in leading Arizona State to the team title of the Thunderbird Collegiate and Morales topped the leaderboard at the El Macero Classic to split this week’s award.
• Summerhays was 1-of-2 players in the 80-man Thunderbird field to shoot in the 60s all three rounds en route to a commanding four-shot victory at 13-under-par 200 (66-68-66).
• Morales also won at 13-under (69-67-67–203) to top the 100-player El Macero field, claiming the outright crown in a playoff. It marked the first Bruin individual victory under first-year head coach Armen Kirakossian.
• Both Morales (16) and Summerhays (15) tied for the most birdies at their respective tourneys.
• The first career Pac-12 monthly/weekly honors for both Summerhays and Morales.

Pac-12 Women’s Golfer of the Week (4/18/23): Kelly Xu, STANFORD (Fr., Claremont, Calif.)

• Xu recorded a career-best tie for second in helping Stanford capture a share of the team title at the Silicon Valley Showcase.
• Buoyed by her first career ace on the par-3 15th hole, Xu carded a collegiate-low 3-under 68 in the first round en route to a 2-over 215 total (68-72-75).
• Led the 54-player field in both par-3 (-2) and par-5 (-6) scoring.
• First career Pac-12 monthly/weekly honor.
