Campos Ties for 7th to Lead Bruins at Pac-12 Championships


PHOENIX – Zoe Antoinette Campos led the No. 24 UCLA women’s golf team at the Pac-12 Championships, tying for 7th at 3-under for the tournament (71-71-17). The Bruins finished in eighth at 17-over after shooting their best round on day three with a 1-under 287.
 
No. 14 USC won the conference championship by seven strokes at 15-under. No. 1 Stanford’s Rose Zhang also won the individual conference championship by seven strokes at 12-under (67-68-69).
 
Campos recorded five birdies on day three but added three strokes on a triple bogey on the par-3 8th. The Valencia, Calif. native now leads the squad with seven top-10 finishes this season. As a result of her win at the Silverado Showdown on April 5, Campos will compete at The Chevron Championship at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas, beginning tomorrow morning. This is Campos’ first LPGA event.
 
Sophomore Caroline Canales matched Campos for UCLA’s best third-round score at the Pac-12 Championships with a 1-under 71 of her own. Canales, who was selected to the 2023 Pac-12 All-Conference Team, birdied twice and bogeyed once on day three. Canales finished in a tie for 20th at 2-over (75-72-71).
 
Senior Yuki Yoshihara improved by five strokes from her second round with an even-par 72 in round three. She tied for 46th at 13-over (80-77-72).
 
Annabel Wilson tied for 39th at 11-over (75-79-73). Alessia Nobilio tied for 42nd at 12-over (75-78-75).
 
The Bruins await the NCAA Selection Show to hear which site of the NCAA Regionals Championships they will be headed to. NCAA Regionals will take place from May 8-10. Below is a list of possible venues.
