Habgood earns an All-Pac-12 honorable mention selection


PHOENIX – The Pac-12 Conference announced Wednesday, April 19, that Washington State women’s golf fifth-year senior Darcy Habgood earned an All-Pac-12 honorable mention selection. It is the first All-Pac-12 honor for the Australian native.

Habgood, who is utilizing her year of NCAA eligibility relief this season and led the Cougars with a scoring average of 73.07, which is the second-best season scoring average in program history. The Nambucca Head, Australia native collected six top-15 finishes this season, which includes a pair of top-five finishes, and she carded six under par rounds. Habgood becomes the first WSU women’s golfer to pick up All-Pac-12 honors since Alivia Brown also earned an All-Pac-12 honorable mention selection during the 2017-18 season.

“It is such a great honor for Darcy to be named All-Pac-12 honorable mention,” said WSU Women’s Golf Head Coach Sofie Aagaard. “Her strong play throughout the season earned her this accolade.”

The fifth-year senior shot a season-best 4-under 68 in the first round of the GOLFWEEK Red Sky Classic back on Sept. 26. Habgood’s best 54-hole score of the season also came at the Red Sky Classic, as she carded 3-under 213 to finish the tournament in a tie for fourth. The Australian native also finished in a tie for fourth at the San Diego Classic to open the spring.

Habgood is in the mix for an at-large bid at the NCAA Women’s Golf Regionals. Regional selections for the 2023 NCAA DI women’s golf championship will be announced on the Golf Channel at 10 a.m. PT Wednesday, April 26, and shortly after that on NCAA.com. Washington State will be one of six schools to host an NCAA Regional this season. Play will take place May 8-10 at Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
