East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s women’s golf team shot an 18-over par 302 and is in 11th place among 14 teams at the Big Ten Championship, being played at Fox Chapel Golf Club in Pittsburgh.
The three-day, 54-hole event, being played on the par-71, 6,045-yard course, continues on Saturday and concludes on Sunday, April 23.
Illinois shot a 2-over par 286 and leads the 14-team field by six shots, with Ohio State second at 8-over par 292. Maryland is in third place (10-over par 294) while Northwestern and Wisconsin are tied for fourth place at 11-over par 295.
The Spartans sit just seven shot out of the top-five teams with an 18-over par 302.
Sophomore Shannon Kennedy is tied for fourth place individually at 1-under par 70, leading MSU. She had two birdies and 15 pars during her round.
Sophomores Brooke Biermann and Katie Lu are tied for 43rd place, with each posting rounds of 6-over par 77.
Junior Nina Rissi is tied for 57th place with a 7-over par 78, while freshman Paula Balanzategui is in 76th place at 10-over par 81 and junior Leila Raines is tied for 78th place at 12-over par 83.
