PIN SEEKERS: THE MOST ACCURATE PLAYERS OF THE SEASON SO FAR

Lily May Humphreys

With two more weeks until the 2023 Ladies European Tour (LET) season resumes at the Jabra Ladies Open, let’s dive into some of the Tee-to-Green statistics and see who’s leading the accuracy charts after six events.

Driving Accuracy

Just as she did throughout the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Spain’s Maria Hernandez once again leads the way in 2023 when it comes to driving accuracy. Renowned for rarely missing a fairway on the LET, Hernandez tops the charts with a highly impressive figure of 94.64% through three events.

Narrowly behind her is England’s Lily May Humphreys on 92.03%. Such accuracy came in clutch at the Joburg Ladies Open as Humphreys landed her maiden LET victory.

In third sits Austria’s Christine Wolf on 88.03%. The winning captain at the Aramco Team Series – Singapore finished eighth in the driving accuracy standings last season.

Greens in Regulation

Onto accuracy from the fairways, and France’s Pauline Roussin is the most dialled-in player so far this season. Boosted by her dominant victory in the Aramco Team Series – Singapore Individual event, the solid ball striker has hit 87.30% of Greens in Regulation (GIR) in 2023.

Teenage sensation Chiara Noja is second with 84.52%. The German has also shot the lowest score so far in 2023 (62) and ranks well in all the putting charts.

Having both made solid starts to 2023, Czechia’s Klara Davidson Spilkova and Switzerland’s Albane Valenzuela then sit in a tie for third on 80.95%.

Sand Saves

When missing the greens and finding the much-maligned sand, Northern Ireland’s Olivia Mehaffey and Sweden’s Elin Arvidsson have so far proven to be the best out of bunkers this season. Having both found the sandy stuff on 12 occasions each, the pair top the Sand Saves standings on 75%.

In third is Spain’s Ana Pelaez Trivino, the Solheim Cup hopeful who is never shy to some short-game magic. Currently second in the Race to Costa del Sol standings, Pelaez has got up and down from the sand 73.68% of the time from 19 attempts.

Scrambling

Finally, when it comes to scoring par or better after missing a GIR – the statistic known as scrambling – England’s Ellie Givens leads the way with 64.37%.

Spain’s Marta Sanz Barrio is then second at 58.89%, while South Africa’s Nicole Garcia is just behind her in third at 58.21%.
