Women’s Golf to Compete at NCAA San Antonio Regional


LOS ANGELES – The UCLA women’s golf team will compete in its 30th consecutive NCAA Regional at TPC San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas from May 8-10. The three-day, 54-hole stroke play event plays a par 72 with a course yardage of 6,420.
 
UCLA Lineup (1-5): Zoe Antoinette Campos, Caroline Canales, Annabel Wilson, Alessia Nobilio and Yuki Yoshihara. The Bruins’ substitute option is Emilie Paltrinieri.
 

The Blue & Gold will need to finish within the top five of the 12-team field to advance to the NCAA Championships May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
 
The Bruins are led by All-Pac-12 Team selections Campos and Canales who are Nos. 1 and 2, respectively in stroke average for UCLA. Campos, who is averaging 71.5 strokes per round, has shot under par in eight of her last nine rounds of competition. She claimed the first two medals of her collegiate career in back-to-back tournaments at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic and Silverado Showdown earlier this season.
 
Live stats for the tournament can be found at golfstat.com. The Bruins will tee off at 6 a.m. (PT) on Monday to start the Regional. Admission is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
 
This will mark the final NCAA Regional competition for head coach Carrie Forsyth who announced her retirement on April 24 after 24 brilliant years leading the UCLA program. She has led the Bruins to two NCAA titles, nine NCAA Regional Championships and 74 tournament victories.
