UCLA in Eighth Place After Round Two at NCAA San Antonio Regional


SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Sophomore Zoe Antoinette Campos leads the UCLA women’s golf team in a tie for second place at -2 (70-72) after round two at the NCAA San Antonio Regional at TPC San Antonio on Tuesday. The Bruins fell four spots on the leaderboard to eighth place after shooting a collective 17-over on day two.
 
UCLA (+27, 298-305) is nine strokes back of No. 7 Auburn in fifth place (+18). The top five teams in the 12-team field will advance to the NCAA Championships May 19-24 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
 
Campos, who shot an even-par 72 in her second round, trails UTSA’s Camryn Carreon in first place by four strokes. The Valencia, Calif. native recorded three birdies in round two.
 
Caroline Canales is in a tie for 12th at 2-over for the tournament after shooting a 3-over 75 in the second round. Canales’ highlight on day two was an eagle on the par 5 14th.
 
Alessia Nobilio is tied for 47th at +13 (78-79), Yuki Yoshihara is tied for 50th at +14 (79-79) and Annabel Wilson is tied for 52nd at +15 (79-80).
 
The Bruins will tee off for the final round tomorrow morning on hole 10 at 6 a.m. (PT).
