WESTFIELD, Ind. – Vanessa Gilly posted an impressive 67 (-5) in the final round of NCAA Regionals at The Club at Chatham Hills on Tuesday, tying the lowest single-round score of her career.
The junior carded seven birdies during the third round, including three consecutive on the final holes. Her 67 ties for the third-lowest round by a Lady Vol in NCAA Regionals in program history and marks her 11th round of par or better this season. Gilly finished the Westfield Regional tied for ninth place out of the 64-player field, the second-best finish of her career, following her play at The Ally in 2020-21 where she tied for seventh place (-2). Her 54-hole score of -5 (211) is her second-best finish (relative to par) of her career, following her performance at the SEC Championship in 2020-21 where she shot -6 (210) and tied for 17th place.
Manassanan Chotikabhukkana carried her momentum into Wednesday, notching five birdies to card a 67 (-3) in the final round, tying the lowest single-round score (relative to par) of her career. The freshman’s 3-under performance brings her rounds par or better total to 15, which ties for the fourth-most rounds of par or better in a season by a Lady Vol in program history. Chotikabhukkana concluded Regionals tied for 17th place at -3 (213), the best tournament finish (relative to par) of her young career.
As a team, the Lady Vols shot -7 (281) in the final round, tying their second-lowest single-round score this season and notching their 11th team round of par or better in 2022-23. UT finished the Westfield Regional tied for seventh place at -1 (863), its best finish at NCAA Regionals since 2018-19 where UT finished sixth at the Auburn Regional.
Caroline Patterson shot her best round of the Regional on Wednesday, logging a 71 (-1), recording her seventh round of par or better in 2022-23. The freshman finished tied for 43rd place at +7 (223).
Graduate Emily Hawkins shot +2 (74) to tie for 49th place at +9 (225), while freshman Angela Arora carded a 75 (+3) in the third round to finish tied for 35th at +4 (220).
