TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State junior Charlotte Heath, who will lead the Seminole Women’s Golf Team in the NCAA Championship Finals for the third time in her career beginning Friday, has been named as one of 10 finalists for the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel. The ANNIKA Award goes to the top women’s collegiate golfer annually, and is named after Annika Sorenstam who played collegiately at the University of Arizona.

Heath has been on the ANNIKA Award Watch list throughout the 2022-23 season, as she was named to the pre-season watch list in September, as well as to the Spring watch list for the prestigious award in March.

Heath, who earned All-ACC honors for the third time in her career, enters the 2023 National Championship Finals at Garyhawk Country Club in Scottsdale, Az., enjoying the best season of her career. She is averaging a career-low and team-leading 70.67 stokes in 28 rounds during 10 tournaments, has earned a career-best six top-10 finishes, and won her first individual championship of her career at the Landfall Tradition in October.

Heath is a cumulative total of 16 strokes below par in six tournaments this spring, and is 31 strokes below par for her entire junior season. She has earned three top five finishes in her last four events, seven top-10 finishes this year, and has finished within the top-17 in each of her 10 tournaments as a junior.

Heath finished in 25th place as she played in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur at the Augusta National Golf Club for the first time in her career earlier this spring. She will play as a member of the International squad at the Arnold Palmer Cup at the Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa., June 8-10, 2023. The Palmer Cup is a Ryder Cup-style competition which features men’s and women’s collegiate golfers from the United States versus their International counterparts.

The 2023 ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel will be presented Tuesday, May 23rd on Golf Channel. The 2023 ANNIKA Award winner will also be awarded an exemption into the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship.

Rose Zhang of Stanford became the ninth ANNIKA Award winner in 2022.

“To be a finalist for the ANNIKA Award is a tremendous accomplishment for Charlotte,” said Florida State Head Coach Amy Bond. “It’s great to see her game continue to progress, and for her to know that her hard work has put her in an elite group of collegiate golfers.”
