Two Tigers in Top 10 Through 36 Holes at NCAA Tournament

Morgan Hill, Calif. – Two Mizzou men’s golf standouts sit in the top 10 through two rounds of the NCAA Tournament in the California regional as both Alfons Bondesson and Charlie Crockett are tied for sixth place with 18 holes to play.

The duo sits in a five-way tie for sixth place with a one-under tally of 143 through two rounds of play. On a challenging day where only five of the 75 golfers finished under par in the round – and only one broke 70 – Crockett led the Tigers by firing a one-ever 73 on Tuesday. The senior carded a team-best three birdies on the day as he moved up three spots on the leaderboard into sixth place.

Bondesson followed up his opening-day 67 with a 76 during the second 18 holes of action as he matches Crockett in sixth at one-under for the tournament.

Jack Lundin (79), Antonio Safa (81) and DJ Springer (81) rounded out the action for Mizzou.

As a team, Mizzou sits in 10th place of 13 schools with a 596 through 36 holes of play. The Tigers are 12 shots off the top five and a team bid for the final rounds of the NCAA Championship, while Bondesson and Crockett are both in contention for an individual bid if the Tigers do not qualify as a team.

The final round of action is set to begin on Wednesday morning with Mizzou teeing off at 10:55 a.m. CT.
