FIVE TALKING POINTS AHEAD OF ARAMCO TEAM SERIES – FLORIDA

The Ladies European Tour (LET) season rolls onto its eighth event of this season and has taken a trip to the United States for the next stop.

Florida and more specifically Trump International Golf Club, West Palm Beach is the host for this week’s Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – Florida.

But before the tournament gets underway on Friday, here are a few points to look out for…

2023 Race to Costa del Sol leader is here

India’s Aditi Ashok still leads the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol after her superb start to the LET season winning at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, finishing third at the Lalla Meryem Cup and then second at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International.

Ashok has also had a good last couple of events on the LPGA Tour finishing T2 at the JM Eagle LA Championship and T5 at the Cognizant Founders Cup and will be vying to carry that good form with her through this week.

Defending Champions back in town

Despite being in a different location, the defending champions from the 2022 Aramco Team Series – New York are back ready to try and retain their titles.

U.S. superstar Lexi Thompson triumphed last October in New York winning by three shots and will be hoping to do the same again this week.

It was Team Gustavsson who came out on top in New York last year and captain Johanna Gustavsson is in good form coming off the back of a T4 finish at last week’s Jabra Ladies Open.

Unique format continues

The format is the same as last year with the Individual and Team competitions being played simultaneously. The Team competition will be played over 36-holes over the first two days with the best two scores counting, while the Individual is a 54-hole stroke play competition with the last round just having the top-60 professionals and ties competing.

There are 108 professionals teeing it up this week and there will be 36 teams contending for the top prize. Each team will consist of three professionals and one amateur with the captains decided based upon the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings on Monday 8^th May. The Draft will see captains pick in reverse order of ranking.

Proven winners back for more

With the opportunity to win an Individual LET title, as well as being part of a winning team, this event allows players to be more aggressive and bring their best game to the golf course.
