SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Wolfpack women’s golf improved on its round one performance by a stroke as it shot a collective 304 in the second round of NCAA Championships action on Saturday.
NC State is in 30th place with a score of 609 (+33) through two rounds of competition at the season-ending event.
Lauren Olivares Leon had the team’s low round of the day with a three-over 75. The sophomore totaled four birdies on the day, including one late in her outing on hole 17. Natalie Armbruester and Vania Simont are tied with her in the individual standings after both shooting 77 (+5) in the second round. Isabel Amezcua birdied her last hole of the day to finish the round with a score of 76 (+4), and Caitlin Whitehead returned to the lineup and went on to also post a 76 in her first round of NCAA Championships action with the Pack.

The Pack will play its third round of the NCAA Championships in the afternoon on Wednesday, May 21 and will go off #1 again. The team will have tee times every 11 minutes beginning at 1:10 p.m. local time (4:10 p.m. EST), and live stats for the third round will be available once again on Golfstat.com. After Wednesday’s round, the top 15 teams and top nine individuals not on one of those teams will move on to a final 18 holes of stroke play on Monday, May 22.
