No. 7 Seed Men’s Golf Ready for NCAA Championships

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The No. 7 seeded Florida State Men’s Golf team prepares for its 28th appearance at the NCAA Championships as it looks to tame Grayhawk Golf Club beginning Friday at 9:10 a.m. MT/6:10 a.m. ET.

The Seminoles will play three rounds of stroke play on Friday-Sunday in Scottsdale. Through Sunday’s round, FSU will look to make it into the Top 15 in order to advance to Monday’s final round of stroke play. The top eight schools following Monday’s round will then move onto match play beginning Tuesday.

GOLF Channel’s live coverage will begin Monday, May 29, during the final round of stroke play from 5-9 p.m. ET. Coverage continues on Tuesday during the match-play quarterfinals and semifinals at Noon-2:30 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. ET.

The championship match on Wednesday, May 31, will include live coverage from 5-9 p.m. ET.

Freshman Luke Clanton tees off first for FSU on Friday at 9:10 a.m. ET. Clanton has been the most consistent of the group over the last month, enjoying nine consecutive rounds at par or less. He is coming off an NCAA Regional win at The Institute Golf Club in Morgan Hill, Calif., the first FSU freshman ever to win a regional.

Redshirt junior Cole Anderson is enjoying a career year where he is currently ranked 19th overall in the latest Golfstat player rankings. The Camden, Maine, native is shooting a career-low 70.58 for the year and -0.79 vs. par, shaving nearly two strokes off his previous career low of 72.29 in 2020-21.

The Seminoles have twice reached the match play portion of the NCAA Championship, reaching the semifinals with Brooks Koepka in 2010 and the quarterfinals in 2021 when it was led by Consensus National Golfer of the Year John Pak. FSU was seeded 17th last season and first overall in 2021.

Junior Frederik Kjettrup joins Anderson and Brett Roberts as the Seminoles with three years of experience playing in the NCAA Championships. Kjettrup leads FSU with a 70.50 scoring average as well as scoring 16 rounds in the 60s this year.
