DURHAM – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) released its All-America teams on Friday with Duke women’s golf junior Phoebe Brinker earning honorable mention accolades.

It marks the second time in her three-year career with the Blue Devils she has earned honorable mention All-America honors as she also earned the distinction as a freshman in 2020-21.

A product of Wilmington, Del., Brinker is coming off a season where she carded a team-best 72.81 stroke average along with six top-10 finishes.  She collected a team-best 18 rounds of even or under par and seven rounds in the 60s.  Brinker registered 105 birdies on the season becoming the first Blue Devil since 2017-18 to reach the 100-birdie mark.

At the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational, Brinker posted rounds of 67, 70 and 72 for a 7-under-par, 209, to finish in a tie for first, before falling in a playoff.  She also registered a runner-up placement at the ACC Championship with a 12-under-par, 204, with rounds of 71, 69 and 74.  Brinker collected four straight top-10 finishes in the spring heading into the NCAA Championship.

Over the last two ACC Championships, Brinker has been outstanding posting a 22-under-par ledger with a victory and runner-up placement.  She also owns nine career eagles, which ranks tied for first on Duke’s all-time record charts.
