Katherine Lemke set to transfer to Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech women’s golf has added Creighton transfer Katherine Lemke to its 2023-24 roster as announced by head coach Carol Robertson, Thursday. The rising junior will have two years of eligibility remaining.

One of the most sought after players in the transfer portal, Lemke comes to Blacksburg with an impressive resume. She became the first back-to-back BIG EAST women’s golf individual champion in conference history, claiming the title as a freshman and sophomore. Lemke is the only female player in the country to repeat as conference champion in 2022 and 2023. She fired a 3-over 219 (79-67-73) to claim the BIG EAST title this past season. Her second-round 67 set a Creighton record and tied a BIG EAST championship record. Lemke had seven birdies and an eagle in that round and led the tournament in par-3 scoring (-2) as well as par-5 scoring (-5).

In addition to winning the conference championship, Lemke topped a field of 60 golfers one week prior at the Stampede at the Creek by firing a 3-over 219 (73-72-74). The Geneva, Ill., native compiled a 75.39 scoring average as a sophomore while logging nine top-20 finishes.

For her career, Lemke has won four times, posted 11 top-10s and carded nine rounds of par or better.
