Kevin Streelman hits train tracks, trees

Kevin Streelman has two career wins on the PGA Tour since turning pro in 2001. He has just one top-10 finish this season. It’s no surprise he entered the 2023 Travelers Championship with +30000 odds to emerge victorious.

And if anyone could foresee the type of luck the 44-year-old was in for on Thursday, oddsmakers might’ve had no choice but to name him the clear favorite.

While teeing off at the par-5 13th at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, Streelman’s drive went way out of bounds left, hitting railroad tracks along the course and somehow bouncing its way back into play. On his next shot out of the rough, Streelman hit what sounded like more than a few tree branches and still managed to land 100 yards shy of the green.

From there it was an easy chip and one-putt for one of the most miraculous birdies you’ll ever see.

Streelman finished his round at 5 under and tied for third place — three strokes off Keegan Bradley’s lead.
