PINEHURST, N.C. – A total of five members of the Duke women’s golf program – Phoebe Brinker, Anne Chen, Katie Li, Emma McMyler and Andie Smith — will open action in the 2023 North & South Women’s Amateur on Tuesday in Pinehurst, N.C.
The event will feature 36 holes of stroke play qualifying on July 11-12 on Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4, followed by match play action July 13-15 at Pinehurst No. 2.
Five different Blue Devils have won the North & South Women’s Amateur – Gina Kim (2021), Brittany Lang (2003), Candy Hannemann (2000), Beth Bauer (1998, 1999) and Stephanie Sparks (1992).
Chen will get things started on Tuesday at 7:30 a.m., off hole No. 1, followed by Brinker (7:50 a.m., on No. 1), McMyler (8 a.m., on No. 10), Smith (9 a.m., on No. 1) and Li (9:10 a.m., on No. 10).
