The Ladies European Tour (LET) returns this week and reaches the halfway point of the season with the 15th event being played.
London is the next destination with the third edition of the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – London and Centurion Club is hosting once again.
But before the tournament gets underway on Friday, here are a few points to look out for…
Defending champions back for more
Last year it was a home victory at Centurion Club as England’s Bronte Law took home top honours and claimed her second LET title.
It was a fantastic finish to the week as Law nailed a monster eagle putt on the 18th to beat compatriot Georgia Hall and win the Individual title and she will be back again this week hoping to do the same.
It was Team Garcia who came out on top in London after beating Team Wikstrom in a playoff and captain Nicole Garcia is hoping to replicate that success in 2023.
Hull high on confidence
England’s Charley Hull had an excellent finish at last week’s U.S. Women’s Open at Pebble Beach as she closed with a 66 (-6).
After a consistent first three days with rounds of 73-72-71, the Solheim Cup star came out firing on Sunday with an eagle, six birdies and two bogeys on her scorecard.
And the aggressive play that she showed at the weekend will be useful as she heads into the Aramco Team Series – London this week.
Unique format back again
The format is the same as last year with the Individual and Team competitions being played simultaneously. The Team competition will be played over 36-holes over the first two days with the best two scores counting, while the Individual is a 54-hole stroke play competition with the last round just having the top-60 professionals and ties competing.
There are 108 professionals teeing it up this week and there will be 36 teams contending for the top prize. Each team will consist of three professionals and one amateur with the captains decided based upon the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings on Monday 3rd July. The Draft will see captains pick in reverse order of ranking.
Top players in town
Four players from the top 20 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are teeing it up this week at Centurion Club.
World number two Nelly Korda is back to the format where she found success in Sotogrande last year and she is joined by world number 12 Leona Maguire, who won her second LPGA title last month.
