Spartans Rank Third Among All Division I Teams with 3.897 GPA

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State’s women’s golf team was one of 25 Division I programs recognized with the All-Scholar Team GPA Award by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

The Spartans posted a combined team grade-point average of 3.897 during the 2023-23 academic year. The team’s GPA ranked third among all Division I teams in the country and was the best in the Big Ten Conference.

The team continued to set the standard for excellence both academically and athletically at MSU, winning the Athletic Director’s Award at the Academic Awards Gala for an impressive 10th time, more than any other women’s team.

In addition, the team posted the highest cumulative-GPA in MSU history with a 3.852 mark during the Fall semester in 2022 and one-upped that by posting a 3.9 GPA during the Spring of 2023.
