Men’s Golf | July 26, 2023

LOS ANGELES – Nicolas Dominguez Alvarez, an incoming freshman from Mexico and the No. 22 ranked junior in the 2023 class (National Junior Golf Scoreboard), has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Trojans men’s golf team, USC head coach Mark Hankins announced on Tuesday (July 25).

Dominguez, the former University of Missouri commit, will join Hankins as his first signee at USC. Dominguez signed on to compete for the men’s golf team on the eve of his appearance at the USGA U.S. Junior Amateur Championship. Dominguez, one of four players representing Mexico in the tournament, will journey to Los Angeles from his hometown of Mexico City.

“We are excited to have Nicolas join our team this fall,” Hankins said. “He is one of the top ranked junior players in the world and will look to contribute immediately this fall season.”

Dominguez has made quite a name for himself throughout the Mexican circuit, as all three tournament wins happened on Mexican soil. His most recent championship victory occurred earlier this month, as he took home the Gira AGVM Championship at Club Campestre Chiluca.

The Mexico City product has competed in 23 counting events on the junior tour and has placed in the top 10 in 17 of those events. Dominguez will join the USC ranks and immediately be part of a new culture as Hankins takes over the reins this fall.
