BOUTIER JUMPS INTO EUROPEAN SOLHEIM CUP POINTS SPOTS

After a phenomenal two weeks on tour, Celine Boutier has moved her way into one of the LET Solheim Cup points spots.

The Frenchwoman won back-to-back tournaments securing her maiden major title at the 2023 Amundi Evian Championship and she then followed that up by winning last week’s FREED GROUP Women’s Scottish Open Presented by Trust Golf.

Suzann Pettersen is at the helm for Team Europe for the 2023 Solheim Cup which will take place in Spain for the first time at Finca Cortesin from September 22-24.

The European team will be comprised of the top two players from the LET Solheim Cup standings, six players from the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, and four captain’s picks.

After finishing in a tie for fourth place at Dundonald Links, Sweden’s Maja Stark leads the LET Solheim Cup points list with 262.42 points to her name.

While Boutier has jumped up to second place and after back-to-back wins and has earned 257.07 points from the eight events she has played.

Sweden’s Linn Grant is just behind in third place having accumulated 242.26 points towards the 2023 Solheim Cup.

As it stands, the six players who qualify based on the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are: Leona Maguire (13), Georgia Hall (15), Charley Hull (16), Linn Grant (19), Carlota Ciganda (31) and Anna Nordqvist (37).

There are now just two weeks left until the qualification period ends for Team Europe, with the team being decided after the ISPS Handa World Invitational.
