Aggies Ranked No. 17 in Preseason Poll – Texas A&M Athletics

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. – The Texas A&M men’s golf team opens the season slotted No. 17 in the Bushnell/Golfweek DI Coaches Poll.
 
The Aggies, who finished 13^th at last season’s NCAA Championships, return six letterwinners headlined by Phichaksn Maichon and Daniel Rodrigues who earned PING Division I All-America Honorable Mention. PING All-Central Region performer Vishnu Sadagopan and two-time SEC Freshman of the Week Jaime Montojo also join the fray.
 

The Maroon & White also welcome a star-studded recruiting class with a trio of freshmen from The Woodlands Christian Academy. Jake Maggert, Aaron Pounds and Jack Usner led TWCA to three consecutive state titles.
 
The SEC is once again predicted to be the top power with nine teams in the preseason top 25. North Carolina topped the opening poll followed by Arizona State, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech and Florida State in the top 5.
 
The Aggies open the season Sunday at the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills in the southeast corner of Wisconsin.
