Blue Devils Ranked in Preseason Top-25

DURHAM – As the Duke men’s golf team prepares to open its 2023-24 season on Sept. 9, the Blue Devils have been voted 23rd in the country in the Bushnell/Golfweek Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

Duke is one of five ACC teams ranked in the preseason poll and received 82 total votes. The Blue Devils will be one of 10 teams listed in the top-25 at Duke’s season-opening event – the Sahalee Players Championship in Sammamish, Wash., on Sept. 9 and 10.

Head coach Jamie Green returns nine golfers from a 2022-23 team that won four total events. Duke claimed team titles at the Georgetown Intercollegiate, White Sands Bahamas Invitational and the Stitch Intercollegiate, while also defeating UNCG in a match play event. In postseason play, Duke earned an at-large bid to the Norman Regional, where the team finished 21-under and advanced to the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2019.

Duke’s lone addition to the roster for the upcoming season is freshman Bryan Kim, who arrived in Durham as the third-ranked junior golfer according to Golfweek and the American Junior Golf Association. His most recent victory was on the national stage, as the Brookeville, Md., native claimed the 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur title with a 2UP victory over Joshua Bai in late July at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, S.C.

The Blue Devils also appear in Golfweek’s and Golf Channel’s 2023-24 men’s golf preseason rankings, slotting in at No. 17 nationally in both iterations.
