Cougars Open Season at Golfweek Fall Challenge


PULLMAN, Wash. (Sept. 9, 2023) – The Washington State men’s golf team begins its 2023-24 schedule when it heads to Pawley’s Island, S.C. to compete in the 2023 Golfweek Fall Challenge, Sept. 10-12.  
 
The Course and Tournament Format
The 2023 Golfweek Fall Challenge will be held at True Blue Golf Club in Pawley’s Island, S.C. The course will play as a par-72 at 7,005 yards.
 
Teams will play 18 holes each day, with play starting Sunday, September 10, and concluding Tuesday, Sept. 12.

The Field
Washington State will open its season against a strong field that includes Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, Stephen F. Austin, Western Carolina, Wright State, Presbyterian College, Charleston Southern, Richmond, Loyola-Marymount, New Orleans and Jacksonville.

WSU Golf
Head Coach Dustin White begins his eights season leading his alma mater. The 2023-24 Cougar squad, which returns nine members from last season, looks to build of the 2023 campaign which saw WSU post its best showing at a Pac-12 Championship, finishing in a tie for third. The Cougars also made a return to postseason play competing in the 2023 National Golf Invitational Championship, only the second time in program history that WSU has played in a postseason tournament, and first since the 2002 NCAA West Regional. The Cougars finished in a tie for sixth at the NGI.
