Laopakdee shot 15-under 201 (70-64-67) to earn medalist honors in the 35-man event.
In Seattle, the Sun Devils are in sixth at the Sahalee Players Championship at 6-over 582, as Illinois leads the field at 9-under 567 (286-281).
Preston Summerhays is one shot back of leader Max Henderson of Illinois, as Summerhays shot 5-under 139 (72-67). The junior finished his first round at even-par (72) and then carded two eagles on the front nine in his second round. He capped his day by carding a 5-under (67) with back-to-back birdies.
Sophomore Luke Potter is currently tied for 16th individually. He shot 2-under (70) his first round. Potter notched five birdies in his first round, four of them coming in the first nine holes. He currently sits in a tie for 16th after finishing his second round with two birdies on the last three holes at 2-over (70-76). The Spaniard Josele Ballester shot 1-under, 71 in his first round. and finished the day with seven birdies between both rounds and sits at 4-over (71-77) for the tournament.
