Final Round of OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational Cancelled

The Gators finish 9th as the tournament was called through 36 holes at Olympia Fields.

CHICAGO – The final round of the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational was cancelled due to weather causing unplayable conditions on Sunday.

Florida finished 9th after 36 holes in the season opener led by newcomer Ian Gilligan, who placed a team-best T8 after his round two of 65 (-5) yesterday. He was one of three Gators to make their debuts for UF, joining Luke Poulter and Jack Turner, who both made their collegiate debuts. Matthew Kress was stroke outside the top-25 for a T26 finish with Parker Bell right behind two back in T37.

North Carolina won the tournament with a team score of 10-under 550 as one of three teams under par.

The fall slate continues next week at the SEC Fall Preview at the Country Club of Birmingham, where the tournament will feature both stroke and match play among conference teams.
