Three Lady Vols in Top 15 After Day One of Mary Fossum Invitational

EAST LANSING, MIch. – Tennessee women’s golf wrapped up the first two rounds of the Mary Fossum Invitational on Sunday afternoon, with three Lady Vols in the top 15 and two in the top 10.

The Big Orange sit in 4th place with a total score of 9-over (585) heading into the final round tomorrow at Forest Akers West Golf Course. Vanessa Gilly (even) and Manassanan Chotikabhukkana (1-over) are in sixth and ninth place, respectively; Kayla Holden (2-over) sits in 13th. 

Gilly shot an even 72 in both rounds today thanks to seven total birdies. The senior has recorded scores of par or better in all five rounds this season; she sits five strokes off the leader heading into Monday’s action.

Sophomore Chotikabhukkana finished the day tied for ninth while shooting 145 (+1) for the day. The Bangkok, Thailand, native ended her day with three birdies in her last seven holes to shoot 34 on the back nine.

Holden finished with a score of 146 (+2). She drained a long putt on hole 17 in round two to record an eagle on her way to a second-straight score of 1-over (73).

Sophomores Caroline Patterson and Angela Arora round out the Tennessee lineup tied for 42nd and 53rd, respectively. Patterson shot 151 (+7) over the course of the day, while Arora turned in a score of 152 (+8).

Competing as an individual, Bailey Davis currently sits tied for 70th with a score of 15-over (159). Davis used four birdies in round one to propel herself to a par round, her second of the season.
