Men’s Golf Completes First Day of Highlands Invitational


Chicago Highlands Invitational Day One Results
 
WESTCHESTER, Ill. – The Penn State men’s golf team wrapped up the first two rounds of the Chicago Highlands Invitational hosted by Wake Forest at the Chicago Highlands Club Monday.
 
The Nittany Lions sit tied for 11th in the 14-team field at 5-over, 581. Penn State carded a 3-under, 285, in the day’s opening round before shooting an 8-over, 296, in the second round.
 
Graduate student Patrick Sheehan leads the way for the Nittany Lions in a tie for 12th place at 4-under, 140, after shooting a pair of 2-under, 70s, in Monday’s two rounds.
 
Junior Jake Griffin are graduate student Jimmy Meyers are both tied for 52nd place at 3-over, 147. Griffin fired a 2-under, 70, in the opening round and 5-over, 77, in the afternoon. Meyers carded an even 72 in the first round and a 3-over, 75, in the second round.
 
Senior James Allen shot a 1-over, 73, in the morning and 4-over, 76, in the second round to sit tied for 63rd at 5-over, 149. Freshman Robby O’Regan sits tied for 66th place at 6-over, 150, after recording a 3-over, 75, in both rounds.
 
The Chicago Highlands Invitational concludes with the third and final round Tuesday. Live scoring will continue to be available on GolfStat.
