Bruins Conclude Day One of Mason Rudolph Championship


FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The UCLA women’s golf team is tied for 13th at 7-over, 295 after the first round of the Mason Rudolph Championship at Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course on Friday.
 
Sophomore Caroline Canales recorded the Bruins’ best round of the day with an even-par 72 featuring three birdies. She is situated in t-34th place. Two other Bruins – Kate Villegas and Alessia Nobilio – finished in the middle of the pack at 1-over, 73 in a tie for 43rd.
 
Auburn owns the team lead by three strokes over Arizona State at 14-under, 274. The Tigers’ Ami Gianchandani sits atop the individual leaderboard with a two-shot lead after an 8-under 64.
 
Zoe Antoinette Campos and Meghan Royal round out UCLA’s counting scores on day one. Both are in a tie for 77th with a pair of 5-over 77s.
 
Royal tees off first for the Bruins in round two at 7:29 a.m. (PT).
