Macnab Earns Individual Title at Mason Rudolph Championship

Franklin, Tenn. – Ole Miss women’s golf junior Caitlyn Macnab brought home her second medalist finish of her career and the first individual title of the year for the Rebels with a 204 (-12) scorecard at the Mason Rudolph Championship on Sunday.
 
Macnab also helped the Rebels to their second top five finish of the year with a team three-round total of 853 (-11). Ole Miss was on another level this weekend after leading the field in par-3 scoring (+1) throughout the entire weekend.
 
The Johannesburg, South Africa, native’s tournament consisted of shooting all three rounds under par (69-67-68), ranking No. 2 in the field for birdies (17) and par-3 scoring (-3) on the week. Her last round was perfect as she tallied four birdies and 14 pars to slide into the top spot of the individual leaderboard. 
 
Additionally, Macnab has finished in the top five at both tournaments so far this fall and has shot under-par in five of her six rounds this season. She marks the 31st golfer in Ole Miss program history to secure an individual title and the 11th under head coach, Kory Henkes.
 
Andrea Lignell’s strong showing in Franklin also earned her a spot in the tournament’s top ten, with the Gothenburg, Sweden, native finishing tied for ninth with a 210 (-6) on the week. In her first round of the tournament, she tied her career-low round score (66) with an outstanding back nine consisting of six birdies.
 
Junior, Natacha Host Husted fired home a score of 218 (+2), finishing tied for 41st overall. She registered nine birdies and 36 pars over the weekend. 
 
Sophie Linder wrapped up her second collegiate debut with an overall score of 223 (+7) and senior Justine Fournand shot a 224 (+8), both putting up nine birdies each over the weekend.
 
Next up, the Rebels will head to Medinah, Illinois, for the annual Illini Women’s Invitational, Oct. 9-10, at the Medinah Country Club.
