Caitlyn Macnab Named SEC Women’s Golfer of the Week

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss women’s golf junior Caitlyn Macnab was recognized for the first time of her career as the SEC Women’s Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. 
 
Although this marks Macnab’s first SEC recognition, in September of 2022 she was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month at TCU.
 
The honor comes following her dominant performance at the team’s second fall season tournament at the Mason Rudolph Championship, where Macnab blazed the course en route to earning her second collegiate medalist finish with a three-round score of 204 (-12).
 
The Johannesburg, South Africa, native’s tournament consisted of shooting all three rounds under par (69-67-68), ranking No. 2 in the field for birdies (17) and par-3 scoring (-3) on the week. Her last round was perfect as she tallied four birdies and 14 pars to slide into the top spot of the individual leaderboard. 
 
Additionally, Macnab has finished in the top five at both tournaments so far this fall and has shot under-par in five of her six rounds this season. She marks the 31st golfer in Ole Miss program history to secure an individual title and the 11th under head coach, Kory Henkes.
 
Macnab helped the Rebels to their second top five finish of the year with a team three-round total of 853 (-11). Ole Miss and the two-time All American were on another level this weekend after leading the field in par-3 scoring (+1) throughout the entire weekend.
 
Led by Macnab, the Rebels jumped up in the most recent Golfweek rankings to land at the No. 3 slot.
 
Next up, Macnab and the Rebels will head to Medinah, Illinois, for the annual Illini Women’s Invitational, Oct. 9-10, at the Medinah Country Club.
