Virginia Athletics | Hoos in 13th Place When Darkness Suspends Windy City Classic

GOLF, Ill. – The No. 21 Virginia women’s golf team was in 13th place when the second round of the Windy City Collegiate Classic was suspended Monday due to darkness. The Cavaliers were one of six teams in the 15-team field that did not complete their rounds at Glen View Club in Golf, Ill.

UVA opened the event by shooting 7-over 295, but rebounded to stand at 6-under during its afternoon round when play was suspended.

During the first round, Rebecca Skoler shot 3-under 69 to lead the Cavaliers. Megan Propeck posted a score of 74 while Amanda Sambach, Jaclyn LaHa and Kiera Bartholomew each finished the morning round with scores of 76.

The second round is scheduled to be completed Tuesday at 7:30 followed by the final round. Pairings and tee times will be the same as Monday’s competition.
