FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Following a strong opening two days at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational, the Mississippi State men’s golf team had their third and final round cut short due to lightning in the area. The final day of the tournament will not be made up, leaving the Bulldogs with a second-place finish.
State had played the first two holes of the final round prior to the delay and eventual cancellation. Those holes were erased from the record, and results reverted to the 36-hole totals.
Hunter Logan and Julia Lopez Ramirez finished one shot off the lead in the best-ball pairing field. The Bulldogs were set to enter the day six strokes behind host Arkansas, and Logan was four shots off the individual lead.
State will now turn its attention to the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational on October 15-17. The Bulldogs are co-hosting the event at the Fallen Oak Golf Course in Biloxi, Mississippi.
