FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The third and final round of the 2023 Blessings Collegiate Invitational, scheduled for Wednesday, was cancelled due to poor weather. The tournament reverted to a 36-hole event, meaning the results after Tuesday’s second round will serve as the final result.

UW senior Camille Boyd, who carded an even-par 72 in the first round a 2-under 70 in the second, finished in a tie for fifth place overall, leading the way for the five Husky golfers who competed at Blessings Golf Club.

“I’m very proud of Camille,” said UW head coach Mary Lou Mulflur. “It was a solid week on a difficult golf course. We gained a lot of valuable experience this week.”

The Huskies finished seventh as a team. On Wednesday, the UW golfers had completed six holes when play was suspended due to lightning in the area. A short time later, the final round was canceled altogether.

The tournament featured both the men’s and women’s teams from nine different colleges, each team playing as a five-player group, and was hosted by Arkansas on the Razorbacks’ home course, Blessings Golf Club.

Jenny Chang, who was 1-over on Monday and 4-over Tuesday, finished as the next lowest UW athlete, tying for 23rd place.

Stefanie Deng (8-over for the tournament) finished in a tie for 31st, while freshman Vivian Lu was one stroke behind, in a tie for 33rd.

Freshman Mads Smith tied for 46th place.

Next up for the Washington women will be the annual Stanford Intercollegiate, Oct. 20-22 at Stanford Golf Course. That will be the final event of the fall season for the Huskies.
