Vanderbilt Women's Golf | Going West

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt women’s golf looks to keep up its recent success on the course this weekend at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by Denver. The Commodores took the crown at this event last year, winning by 20 strokes at the Highlands Ranch Golf Club.

“We’re really excited to get back to Denver and compete this weekend,” said head coach Greg Allen. “I believe the key will be how we manage our expectations. We obviously had success here last year, but we’re going with a different lineup and the field is much stronger than what we saw last year.”

Tillie Claggett, coming off a clutch back nine at the Mason Rudolph Championship, leads the Commodores to Colorado. Lynn Lim and Virginie Ding add experience to this group with freshmen Ava Merrill and Charlene Chung rounding out the lineup. Macie Brown is competing as an individual. Fifth-year Celina Sattelkau will not travel as she is studying for graduate school exams.

Vanderbilt will compete in a field of 14 teams that also includes California, Colorado, Denver, Harvard, Kansas, UNLV, New Mexico, Oregon State, San Diego State, Tulane, Washington State, Wisconsin, and Xavier.

“I see this tournament as a great opportunity for girls to step up and make a statement,” said Allen.

The Commodores will tee off at 11:10 a.m. CT with Denver and Oregon State. Live scoring for the event can be found HERE.
