Griffin Paces Penn State in Opening Round of Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate


Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate Round One Results
 
JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – Penn State men’s golf junior Jake Griffin is tied for seventh place to lead the Nittany Lions as the opening round of the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate concluded Sunday.
 
Penn State sits in a four-way tie for ninth in the 15-team field as the Nittany Lions finished the opening round at 3-over, 291.
 
Griffin birdied three of his final six holes to wrap up the opening round at 3-under, 69, and in a tie for seventh place amongst 90 individuals.
 
Graduate student Patrick Sheehan carded an even 72 and sits tied for 27th following Sunday’s opening round.
 
Freshman Robby O’Regan shot a 2-over, 74, and is tied for 47th. Senior James Allen carded a 4-over, 76, and is tied for 71st, while junior Morgan Lofland shot a 5-over, 77, and is tied for 75th.
 
The Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate continues Monday with the second of three rounds. Live scoring will continue to be available via GolfStat.
