ALPHARETTA, Ga. – The seventh ranked Washington men’s golf team is in seventh in a tightly packed field at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational after firing a first round 284 at four under par.

Buoyed by a bogey-free front nine, the Husky effort was led on Friday by Bo Peng, who sits tied for seventh at -3, two shots off the lead.

“Solid day from the guys,” head coach Alan Murray said. Everyone played pretty steady golf and a really good round from Bo who has been under the weather so it was nice playing from him”

Petr Hruby also shot a below-par first round, carding a 71 to come in one under, tied for 26th. Teddy Lin and Finn Koelle are tied for 37th, even on the day, while Taehoon Song rounds out the Dawgs at three-over.

“Petr was his usual steady self and had another under par round,” Murray said. “Finn and Teddy had solid even par rounds and Tae played good golf and just had one bad hole really which took the shine off a solid days work.”

With pairings pre-set for the first two rounds at the Golf Club of Georgia, Washington will once again be paired with Charlotte and Duke on Saturday, teeing off from hole 10 at 6:20 a.m. PT.

“We have 36 more to go and I think we have a really good day or two in us,” Murray said. We’re excited for tomorrow’s action.
