Five Things to Know: Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational


MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin men’s golf is headed back on the road to Saucier, Mississippi for the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational, their final tournament of the fall. The Badgers will play 54 holes from Sunday, October 15 to Tuesday, October 17 at Fallen Oak Golf Course. 

Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:

1. Last Time Out: After three days of play, Wisconsin men’s golf tied for ninth at the 2023 Badger Invitational. The Badgers finished three-over par at their home tournament, totaling a 296-294-277=867. Jacob Beckman and Cameron Huss each finished one-under par to tie for 19th and lead UW’s golfers at University Ridge. Both Badgers tied their career 18-hole low scores in the event. Badgers competing in the individual tournament at TPC Wisconsin were led by Graham Moody, who tied for 13th place at 11-over par. Florida Golf Coast University won the competitive field after carding 13-under par at the end of three rounds. South Alabama’s Joshua Hill paced all golfers at eight-under par. 

2. The Course: Ranked as the best in the state of Mississippi by Top 100 Golf Courses, Fallen Oak Golf Club will host the invitational on their par-72, 7,487-yard championship course. Designed by the legendary Tom Fazio, Fallen Oak is known for its variety of towering trees and TifEagle Greens. 

3. The Tournament: The Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational will take place from Sunday, October 15 to Tuesday, October 17 with 18 holes being played on each day. The Badgers will tee off Hole 10 on Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m. CT. Tee times on Monday will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT and the final round on Tuesday will begin at 8:00 a.m. CT. 

4. The Field: Teams competing in the Invitational include Auburn, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, LA Tech, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, SMU, UCF, UNLV and Wisconsin. Competing for the Badgers is Cameron Huss, Jacob Beckman, Blake Wisdom, Coalter Smith and James Boustead. Graham Moody will be representing Wisconsin as an individual.
