UF is leading the field by 14-strokes with a team score 573 (-3). The Gators gained the lead and held strong with a round two of 281 (-7), its second-lowest of the season. All five golfers in the lineup are also in top-25.
Turner, competing as an individual, is the solo leader at Woodmont Country Club by four shots. He turned in back-to-back career-low rounds of 69 (-3). He has made 24 pars and nine birdies as the field has shot five rounds in the 60s with Turner shooting two. The Orlando, Florida native is looking for his first collegiate win in his second career tournament.
Right behind the freshman, are Ian Gilligan and Matthew Kress tied for 2nd. They are 2-under overall as both made an eagle in the second round on hole 3 (Par-5, 540 yards). Gilligan shot a 69 (-3) and Kress a 70 (-2) in the second set of 18 holes.
A stroke back is Tyler Wilkes in a tie for 5th. He also was the third Gator to make eagle on hole 3 as he shot a round two of 2-under 70 to get under par and is 1-under overall.
The next two in Orange and Blue are Luke Poulter (T12) and John DuBois (T22).
Florida tees off the final round tomorrow at 10:10 a.m.
