BILOXI, Miss. – Mississippi State’s men’s golf team sits in second place entering the final round at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational. The No.10/23 Bulldogs are currently 6-under as a team and trail No. 2 Auburn by five strokes.
Josep Serra paced the Bulldogs at 4-under and sits in second place. He is four shots back of Ole Miss’ Michael La Sasso. Serra carded three birdies and shot his second eagle of the tournament during an even par round on Monday. Hunter Logan is currently tied for sixth place in the field, while Pedro Cruz Silva and Harrison Davis both sit inside the top-20.
Serra started strong on the day, carding all three of his birdies in the front nine. Monday marked his sixth par or better round of the year, good for second-most on the team. His eagle on the No. 15 tee marked was his team-leading third of the season.
Cruz Silva shot a team-high six birdies on the day. He currently stands at even-par through two rounds and is in a tie for 13th place. Alejandro Fierro continued his first collegiate tournament and shot his first career eagle on the sixth hole.
Mississippi State will enter the final round of a tournament in second place for the third time this year. The Bulldogs are set to tee off at 9:10 a.m. CT alongside Auburn and No. 3 Ole Miss.
