Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at The Southern


The Missouri women’s golf team wrapped up play at The Southern in Georgia, placing sixth as a team.

Sophomore Melanie Walker led the Tigers once again firing a 222 over 54 holes (75-74-73) placing herself in the top 5 on the leaderboard. This is Walker’s second career top 5 finish. Fleur van Beek (77-72-75) finished second on the team and landed in the top 20, only five strokes behind the top of the leaderboard. 

Mizzou shot the lowest team score of round three (298) with Ffion Tynan (83-71-74), Jade Zamora (81-78-76), and Addie Dobson (80-81-82) rounding out the total tally of 906 over three rounds. 

Georgia Southern won the team title with Western Kentucky and Coastal Carolina finishing second and third, respectively.

The Tigers break for the winter and return next semester at The Beach Invitational on Feb. 5-6.
